The month long celebration conducted by the American Center in the month of June, 2012, led to the unveiling of its signature LGBT pride flag. This flag made of Batik was crafted by the trainees of Karma Kutir. Karma Kutir also took the pleasure of spearheading the endeavor. The prestigious ceremony was inaugurated by Jeffrey.K.Reneau the director of American Center. The well known personalities present at the event were Nil of designer duo Dev n Nil, Paramita Banerjee of NGO Sathi, Us Consulate and Kolkata representative of LGBT Society.

Karma Kutir conducted a Kantha Handwork event on 16.07.2012 for 25 women at the District Library of South 24 parganas. The exhibition showcased the women’s capabilities to sew and stitch. The opening ceremony was conducted by the President of Vishnu Panchayat Samiti- Shri Mohan Naskar.

Competition organized by Mallika Kantha (18.02.2011)
The Hand-embroidery section of Karma Kutir participated in a prestigious competition organized by Mallika Kantha to celebrate 150th Birth Anniversary of Rabindra Nath Tagore. It was based on Tagore’s poem “Krishna Kali”. On 18th February 2011 Karma Kutir received the “SHE” award of excellence and a prize money of Rs 25000/-.
